Firm News

We are delighted to announce that Alec McNeill has taken up Presidency of the Devon and Somerset Law Society (DASLS) which represents over 1000 Solicitors across its two counties.  Alec, who is the Partner in charge of our Barnstaple Office, takes up the reins as DASLS celebrates its two hundredth year since it was created in 1808.

Elected at the Society's Annual General Meeting, Alec will be using his year of office to highlight the career opportunities available in Devon and Somerset for young people.

"Devon and Somerset are marvellous places to practise law" said Alec.  "I will continue to build on the good work already done by my colleagues to encourage law students to recognise the quality and diversity of legal work available throughout the two counties".

"To take over the reins in this two hundredth year is a special honour and I want to pay tribute to the legal profession.  They conduct thousands and thousands of transactions every year with the vast majority of clients completely satisfied, and they play a major role in their communities in charitable or voluntary work".

Alec has practised as a Solicitor in North Devon for over thirty years. He is a general practitioner with experience of handling a wide range of matters including contested Wills and high value commercial and company transactions. He is the Partner in charge of our Barnstaple Office and heads up the firm's Commercial Department.  He sits as a part time Tribunal Chairman for the Appeals Service and is also a Notary Public and member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

If you would like to make an appointment to see Alec McNeill, please contact our Barnstaple Office on 01271 324143.
