Partner specialising in Property

Sam specialises in property and agricultural law and is based in our Holsworthy office.

Sam has a wide range of experience in property matters including residential sales and purchases (freehold and leasehold), new build plot sales and purchases, re-mortgages, Deeds of Easement, tenancy agreements, adverse possession claims, first registrations and applications to the Land Registry to amend/update legal titles, as well as agricultural law including farm sales and purchases, land transactions, advising on farm business tenancies and family transfers as part of succession planning.

She says: “Property transactions are often very stressful for clients, and I pride myself on my communication skills and keeping clients informed at all stages of a transaction. I try to progress matters as quickly as possible, whilst providing comprehensive advice and finding ways to resolve any issues that may arise along the way. My objective is to minimise clients' stress and anxiety”

Career

Sam has always had an interest in law, deciding to become a solicitor at the age of 9. Sam started work in a solicitor’s firm as an office junior after completing her GCSEs, undertaking her further studies in her spare time whilst working full-time. Sam trained via the CILEX route, becoming a Legal Executive before completing a post graduate diploma in law part-time at De Montfort University and then the LPC part-time at the University of the West of England. Sam finally achieved her ambition to qualify as a solicitor in 2013. Sam was specialising in criminal law at that time and went on to attain the Criminal Litigation Accreditation in 2014.

Sam moved to her husband’s dairy farm on the Devon/Cornwall border in 2014 and began working in property law the following year. Sam joined Peter Peter & Wright’s property department in October 2016 to assist with the varied property work undertaken by the firm’s Holsworthy office.

Sam's agricultural knowledge (living on a dairy farm for the last 10 years and with grandparents who are dairy farmers) means she has a real interest in agricultural law, as well as property law. Sam became a Partner in 2021.
